Welcome
Hi there! Welcome to Whispering Softly This page and podcasts represent my greatest passions, true crime and spiritual encounters. True crime and solving mysteries are about the detail - in the words of Stephen King, "the truth is in the detail". Having a background in both psychology and investigations, I appreciate that uncovering the truth and the motivations behind human behaviour requires not only patience but hard-core attention to detail of the facts, or in many cases, spotting those small inconsistencies that just activate our “spidey” senses … that piece of information that doesn’t quite fit that we keep going back to … Whether we call it a “hunch”, “gut instinct”, “vibe”, or just an “uncanny knowing”, we have all experienced it … some rationalise it as being a primitive instinct against a potential threat or whilst others rationalise it as being a sixth sense guided by divine intervention. From the true crime aspect of the podcast, it is the process of painstakingly following the chain of evidence, and how each and every piece plays a role in uncovering the story and the truth. Each individual piece of evidence in isolation is rarely enough to move an investigation forward, it is the coordinated efforts of various branches of an investigation unit that bring it together – eyewitness accounts, forensic analysis, material evidence (such as CCTV), medical examination, and even unexpected contributions, such as Psychic Mediums. Which segues nicely into the other aspect of the Whispering Softly podcast. Whilst it is not a new concept to involve Psychic Mediums in cases where the trail has gone cold or just to try and kick start the investigation with some fresh leads, there still exists a lot of skeptism about the validity and credibility of the information provided. And of course, hunches, instincts or visions are not evidence irrespective of what the investigation team may believe to be intuitively true! Whilst a Psychic Medium may open up different avenues of inquiry, at the end of the day, only an evidence-based, forensically sound case can be brought to trial. Quite simply, without solid evidence, there is no case, there is no closure and there is no justice. I hope you enjoy the podcasts and keep an open mind and “look beyond what you see” (Rafiki, The Lion King).
